The Assistant Manager (AM) rank is an important backbone of the HKMA workforce. A vast majority of the AMs are involved in the HKMA’s function as the regulatory authority of the banking sector. They are deployed to the Banking Departments, namely Banking Conduct Department, Banking Policy Department, Banking Supervision Department and Enforcement & AML Department. Some AMs work in other functions such as the Research Department, Monetary Management Department and External Department.
In the Banking Departments, the AMs have opportunities to gain exposures in a range of responsibilities:
In Research Department, Monetary Management Department and External Department, the AMs are involved in analyses and monitoring of macroeconomic, monetary and financial developments of global and local economies, and in the work in relation to the HKMA’s participation in international and regional forums.
Experience: Prior work experience is an advantage, but final-year students or recent graduates of local and overseas universities with good academic standing are welcome to apply.
Education: Holder of a university degree or equivalent in banking, accountancy, finance, economics, law or related fields.
Qualification: Recognition from relevant professional bodies in banking, accountancy, securities, insurance, MPF, finance, law or related field an advantage.
Capabilities: Solid analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Good command of English and Chinese, good Putonghua an advantage.
Team spirit: A good team player, able to work with others to achieve the objectives.
The monthly fixed pay of AMs is around $30,000.

Our training programmes mainly comprise vertical training in job-specific areas aiming at deepening professional knowledge and horizontal training aiming at enhancing individual capabilities.
