Industry Project Masters Network (IPMN)

Introduction

Under the “Fintech 2025” strategy, the Industry Project Masters Network (IPMN) scheme aims to groom fintech talent by providing opportunities to postgraduate students for them to work on banks’ fintech or industry projects and gain hands-on experience and skills. Piloted in September 2021, the scheme was officially launched in September 2022.

Collaboration with Local Universities

To form strategic partnerships and foster long-term collaboration with local universities in relevant areas, including fintech talent development, the HKMA entered into Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the following local universities in October 2021. They will collaborate with the HKMA and other stakeholders on the IPMN scheme. Postgraduate students of these universities in the discipline of fintech will be eligible for joining IPMN:

Professor Edward J. Snape, Dean of School of Business, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), signed the MoU with Mr Colin Pou, Executive Director (Financial Infrastructure), HKMA.
