Fraudulent Claim to be an Institution Regulated by the HKMA

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) received enquiries from members of the public regarding an institution, with the domain name http://www.de-ml.com, claiming that it is regulated by the HKMA and offers investment services for the public.

The public should be aware that the “Demeili Fund” is not an authorized institution (AI), stored value facility (SVF) licensee or approved money broker regulated by the HKMA. The lists of AIs and the register of SVF licensees (https://www.hkma.gov.hk/eng/regulatory-resources/registers/) and the list of approved money brokers regulated by the HKMA (https://www.hkma.gov.hk/media/eng/doc/key-functions/banking-stability/banking-policy-and-supervision/name_list.xls) can be found on the HKMA website.

Anyone who suspects to have fallen victim to fraudulent activities should report to the Police or contact the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012 immediately.
