Memorandum of Understanding between the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) today (Thursday) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for banking supervisory cooperation between the two authorities.

The MoU was signed by Mr Norman Chan, Chief Executive of the HKMA, and Dr Jih-Chu Lee, Vice Chairperson of the FSC.

An HKMA spokesman said, “Given the increasing economic and financial links between Hong Kong and Taiwan, the signing of the MoU will facilitate supervisory cooperation in relation to cross border banking matters. This MoU is the latest one in a series of MoUs signed between the HKMA and other banking supervisory authorities.”
