The Hong Kong Monetary Authority's (HKMA) exhibition, "Money in Hong Kong", was formally opened today (29 July) at Discovery Park, Tsuen Wan, by the Chief Executive of the HKMA, Mr Joseph Yam.
The aim of the exhibition is to foster communication between the HKMA and the general public and to promote public awareness of Hong Kong's monetary and banking systems. Senior HKMA executives, led by Mr Yam, attended the Exhibition's opening today.
The HKMA Exhibition will be held at three different locations, running from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm daily. The other venues will be Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong (from 4 to 7 August) and Pacific Place, Admiralty (from 11 to 14 August).
At the launch of the exhibition today, Mr Yam also unveiled the new HKMA website.
The new website expands the ability of the HKMA to keep the general public abreast of the development of the local monetary system, allowing the world to keep track of the policies and work of the HKMA.
The new HKMA website features:
- Simple address (www.hkma.gov.hk)
- Streamlined structure
- More efficient navigation
- Enhanced content usability
- News update e-mail service; and
- Resource centre on-line library catalogue
Other features of the website include faster download time, improved bilingual switch and downloadable files.
