It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA. Associate Director, Solutions Delivery (GSS Project)
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Executive Director, Solutions Delivery, the Associate Director will support the Global Securities Services (GSS) Project, a strategic initiative to enhance multi-asset post-trade processing capabilities, and will serve as the primary asset servicing subject matter expert for the project
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and work closely with the selected vendor, to support implementation of asset servicing requirements, serving as a key liaison between Operations and IT
- Provide asset servicing expertise to the GSS Project Manager and the Operations team, supporting project implementation through operational input, stakeholder coordination, and contributions to deliverables, project updates and progress reporting
- Work with key stakeholders to develop the target operating model and related processes for GSS asset servicing
- Contribute asset servicing expertise to vendor onboarding and implementation activities, working closely with the vendor and the Operations team
Requirements
- University degree
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the securities services industry, preferably acquired from market infrastructure providers or banks
- Extensive experience in managing corporate actions operations as a specialist, with the following key responsibilities:
- Event processing – end-to-end management of mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, including proxy voting
- Notification and communications – notifying internal and external stakeholders of upcoming actions
- Reconciliation and risk management – reconciling cash and stock positions, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strict control standards
- Instruction handling – receiving, validating, and inputting client instructions for voluntary events
- Familiarity with SWIFT messages (MT564, MT565, MT566, MT567) and corporate actions system platforms
- Experience in managing global asset servicing teams in a global operations hub
- Experience working in a sizeable team, with a track record of delivering complex projects
- Familiarity with financial markets, preferably in both fixed income and equities products
- Organised and detail-oriented, with effective communication skills to handle client enquiries
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; highly motivated, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese
- Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above
