The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong. 

CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Exchange Fund.  It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA.  As part of the critical financial market infrastructure in Hong Kong, CMU is a central securities depository (CSD), providing secure and efficient clearing, settlement and custodian services for securities.  CMU OmniClear’s vision is to continuously enhance CMU service coverage, expand connectivity with other markets and upgrade the CMU infrastructure to provide market participants with comprehensive and quality services.

Senior Associate (IT - Post-Trade Systems Engineer)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Developer and software architect - Participate in design, development, deployment and maintenance of server-side applications using VB.Net, ASP.NET, Java, and PL/SQL
  • Service delivery engineer - Monitor and review system performance to ensure reliability, scalability, and security
  • Production support engineer - Perform troubleshooting and resolve complex technical issues
  • Business analyst - Prepare functional and technical specifications, workshops, and documentation to ensure seamless integration and knowledge sharing
  • Test engineer - Conduct technical integration testing and assist in user acceptance testing to guarantee high-quality deliverables
  • Incident manager - Provide on-call support for production incidents and ensure adequate escalation

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in computer science, information technology, or related fields
  • At least 3 years of experience in web-based application development and support in the financial sector; advantage for experience in translating business requirements into technical architecture
  • Proficient in VB.Net, ASP.NET and/or Java programming, with a strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies; advantage for experience in PROWIDE library or an equivalent SWIFT message parser/generator library
  • Experience with shell script in IBM AIX and/or Unix environment
  • Experience in RESTful API with JSON and XML
  • Knowledge of SWIFT MX and MT message formats; advantage for experience in IBM MQ series for enterprise messaging integration
  • Advantage for knowledge in SQL, stored procedure programming and/or Crystal Reports
  • Fluent in Cantonese (both spoken and written) and good command of English, with good communication and interpersonal skills; advantage for proficiency in Mandarin (both spoken and written)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Be a team player, self-motivated, and proactive to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and operations, to achieve business targets
  • Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Associate level.)
