Officer (Communications) – Media and Social Media

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.  There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position:

Officer (Communications) – Media and Social Media

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage media relations and handle enquiries from the press; prepare communications materials and external correspondence
  • Manage communications issues; plan and manage media and publicity projects
  • Advise line departments on communications and public affairs matters
  • Perform news monitoring and reporting duties as well as conduct media research and analysis
  • Manage media interviews for senior executives and perform press marshalling duties
  • Manage the HKMA’s digital media channels (including handling enquiries) and conduct relevant research / analysis
  • Assist in developing and creating content for the HKMA’s social media channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, RedNote, WeChat, X and YouTube) using graphics, videos and content write-up

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in journalism, communications, economics, international finance / banking or related fields
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of finance and banking matters, and experience in issues management and social media a plus
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • A good team player and fast learner; proactive and versatile
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Assistant Officer level.)

 

Conditions of service

 

  • Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
  • A competitive remuneration package will be offered.  There is flexibility to take account of additional experience and qualifications
