The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong. 

CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Exchange Fund.  It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA.  As part of the critical financial infrastructure in Hong Kong, CMU is a central securities depository (CSD), providing secure and efficient clearing, settlement and custodian services for securities.  CMU OmniClear’s vision is to continuously enhance CMU service coverage, expand connectivity with other markets and upgrade the CMU infrastructure to provide market participants with comprehensive and quality services.

Associate Director (Communications)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Implement brand guidelines to enhance and sustain the corporate image, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and market positioning
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and other media representatives.  Pitch story ideas and respond to media inquiries in a timely manner
  • Write and edit press releases, articles, newsletters, speeches, and other communications materials that effectively convey the company’s messages
  • Implement media outreach plans, including organising media briefings and arranging media interviews
  • Develop and review website contents to ensure they are accurate, engaging, and aligned with corporate messaging and branding guidelines
  • Manage the company’s social media presence, including content creation, engagement, and monitoring online sentiment
  • Work closely with various internal stakeholders (e.g. business and executive leaders) to ensure cohesive messaging and branding

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree, preferably in communications, journalism, media studies or related fields
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate communications or media-related areas of work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of content creation tools a plus
  • Strong awareness of current affairs and market situations
  • Excellent written and spoken proficiency in both English and Chinese
  • Experience in managing corporate social media accounts and website
  • Creative, proactive, well-organised, and detail-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Senior Associate level.)
