The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong. 

CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Exchange Fund.  It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA.  As part of the critical financial infrastructure in Hong Kong, CMU is a central securities depository (CSD), providing secure and efficient clearing, settlement and custodian services for securities.  CMU OmniClear’s vision is to continuously enhance CMU service coverage, expand connectivity with other markets and upgrade the CMU infrastructure to provide market participants with comprehensive and quality services.

Director (Product Development)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver post-trade and collateral platform solutions, including roadmaps, model designs, and product documentation
  • Work closely with internal teams (Operations, IT, Risk, Compliance) to document product requirements, define workflows, and align processes with business needs
  • Support the Head of Product Development in coordinating system upgrades, managing RFPs, and ensuring vendor deliverables meet business expectations
  • Perform detailed pricing comparisons against global competitors and develop recommendations to enhance CMU’s commercial strategy
  • Assist in driving product rollouts, ensuring seamless execution by liaising across departments and monitoring key milestones
  • Gather client feedback, analyze user behaviour, and provide insights to refine CMU’s offerings and improve adoption
  • Track industry and regulatory developments to ensure CMU’s products remain competitive and compliant

 

Requirements

 

  • A university degree in a related field
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience in a well-established financial organisation or consultancy firm
  • Previous experience as a product director within the financial services industry, focusing on one or more of the following areas: post-trade services, collateral management, business development, or related fields
  • A good understanding of financial products and market, particularly in fixed income, equities. Experience in collateral management is a plus
  • Proven experience in product and platform launches, from design through to delivery
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and people management skills
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus
  • Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Associate Director level)
