HKMA Appointment

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (Wednesday) the appointment of Ms Huo Yingli as a Senior Adviser with effect from 22 August 2012.  Ms Huo is seconded from the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) to the HKMA.  She will take up the position previously occupied by Mr Mu Huaipeng and offer advice and assistance in the areas of financial cooperation between Hong Kong and the Mainland, further expansion of the renminbi business in Hong Kong, and the development of opportunities for Hong Kong’s financial services industry on the Mainland.

Ms Huo last held the position of Deputy Director-General of the Financial Market Department with the PBoC prior to her secondment.

Mr Mu Huaipeng has returned to the PBoC after his secondment with the HKMA.   The Chief Executive of the HKMA, Mr Norman Chan, thanked Mr Mu for his work in the HKMA and said that Mr Mu had made important contributions during his two-year secondment.
