The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.

The HKMA currently embarks on a multi-year IT Transformation Programme for the renewal and upgrade of major technology infrastructure of the HKMA.  It aims to provide the HKMA with a smooth and efficient IT operating environment, and ensure the robustness and safety of the technology solutions in view of the technological development and security risks.

There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position to work under the IT Transformation Programme:

Lead Solution Architect

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders and IT teams to align architectural vision with organisational strategy and objectives
  • Develop architecture blueprints and standards to drive technology convergence and operational efficiency
  • Supervise project teams in technical design and implementation, ensuring adherence to established standards and best practices
  • Ensure solutions are secure-by-design, complying with relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Conduct architecture governance and data governance reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategic architectural decisions and provide actionable recommendations

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in computer science, software engineering or related fields
  • At least 3 years of experience in solution or data architecture
  • Hands-on experience in end-to-end application design and development, encompassing modern web technologies, API-driven microservices, database management, data platforms and analytic platforms
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipeline automation, and automated testing
  • Proficiency in hybrid cloud platforms and SaaS solutions
  • Expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, MCP, and AI agent frameworks
  • Good understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS and CRAF, and relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or TOGAF
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrency, blockchain, DLT architecture, investment products and financial technology solutions an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, both written and spoken

 

Conditions of service

 

  • Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
