HKMC Warns Against Fraudulent Activities

The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited (HKMC) has become aware of an instance of an impostor offering mortgage insurance using the name of the HKMC and requesting a potential applicant to deposit insurance premium monies into a designated bank account. 

The HKMC wishes to inform the public that the HKMC will not approach individual mortgage borrowers applying for mortgage insurance.  All matters relating to the application for mortgage insurance, including payment of insurance premium, will be handled directly between the banks and the borrowers.  The letter in this instance was not issued or authorised by the HKMC.  The HKMC has already reported this case to the Hong Kong Police Force for investigation.
