The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) today (Friday) published the latest issue of its Quarterly Bulletin. This issue contains feature articles on:
- The Impact of China's Accession to the World Trade Organisation on Asia - analysing the overall implications of China's accession to the WTO for trade and investment in the region.
- The Nexus of Consumer Credit, Household Debt Service and Consumption - examining the relationship between consumer credit, the debt-service burden and consumer spending in Hong Kong.
- Preserving Monetary Stability in the Face of Budget Deficits - examining the relationship between the fiscal position and exchange rate stability both in Hong Kong and in other economies.
- Business Continuity Planning after 9/11 - giving a brief account of the main points in the HKMA guidance note on business continuity planning.
- Proposed Supplement to the Guideline on Prevention of Money Laundering - explaining the main improvements to customer due diligence suggested in the Supplement.
The Bulletin also carries regular articles on the banking and monetary environment during the third quarter of 2002.
