Legislative Councillors visit Hong Kong Note Printing Limited

Thirteen Members of the Legislative Council toured the Tai Po plant of Hong Kong Note Printing Limited (HKNPL) this afternoon (7 April). They were accompanied by HKNPL Chairman and Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), Mr Joseph Yam, and the General Manager of HKNPL, Mr Chan Tak-yan.

During the visit, Members were briefed on the operations of HKNPL and on banknote printing procedures. They were also briefed on the security features of Hong Kong banknotes.

HKNPL, which is majority owned by the Government through the Exchange Fund, prints all of Hong Kong's banknotes on behalf of the three note-issuing banks in Hong Kong.
