The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to make it clear that none of the companies in the Peregrine Group is a bank or deposit-taking company authorised under the Banking Ordinance.

On the latest information available to the HKMA, locally incorporated banks in Hong Kong are not heavily exposed to the Peregrine Group.
