The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.  There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following post:

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the payment systems operation team and coordinate with external parties to ensure smooth operation of the payment systems in Hong Kong, including maintaining up-to-date clearing house rules, operating and contingency procedures
  • Ensure proper risk management as well as handle exception and contingency arrangements for the payment systems in Hong Kong
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on payment systems development and enhancement projects, including preparing user requirements and reviewing functional specifications
  • Monitor payment flows and conduct analysis on the usage and efficiency of the payment systems in Hong Kong
  • Keep abreast of the regulatory and technical development of global financial market infrastructures with a view to identifying and implementing system and operational changes to enhance system safety and efficiency
  • Ensure that the operation of the payment systems in Hong Kong comply with international and local standards for key financial market infrastructures

Requirements

  • University degree in finance, business, information technology or related fields
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in banking or financial services industry
  • Knowledge of local and overseas operation of payment systems, debt securities settlement systems and Fintech an advantage
  • Good research, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skill, including data analytics
  • Good command in English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua an advantage
  • Well versed in MS Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, SQL /equivalent; knowledge of simulation modelling an advantage
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including outside normal office hours (e.g. holidays) and under adverse weather conditions as required

Remuneration Package
