The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.  There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position:

Manager (Currency and Retail Payments)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary case officer of a portfolio of cases on Stored Value Facility (“SVF”) licensees and / or designated Retail Payment Systems (“RPSs”)
  • Perform a range of off-site and on-site supervisory duties on assumed cases, including but not limited to following up with SVF licensees and / or designated RPSs on different supervisory issues, as well as collecting and reviewing statistical data of individual institutions and the industry
  • Provide support to the division on various supervisory priorities
  • Perform ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisor
  • Provide support to cross-departmental collaboration and initiatives

 

Requirements

  • University degree in economics, finance, law, risk management or related fields with strong academic results
  • At least 3 years of experience in relevant fields, including not less than 2 years of experience in regulation, risk management or audit in relevant industries
  • Broad general knowledge, high versatility and flexibility, appropriate attention to details, good logical and critical thinking, and a strong analytical mind
  • Willing to keep abreast of industry developments, new businesses, emerging financial and regulatory trends
  • Mature personality and resilient under pressure, able to take up challenges and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • A good team player, and able to work with others to achieve corporate objectives
  • Good command of English and Chinese, and strong presentation and communication skills.  Proficiency in Putonghua an advantage

  • Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
