The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.

CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of CMU OmniClear Holdings Limited, which is jointly owned by the Exchange Fund (as the majority shareholder) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (as the minority shareholder).  It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA.  As part of the critical financial market infrastructure in Hong Kong, CMU is a central securities depository (CSD), providing secure and efficient clearing, settlement and custodian services for securities. CMU OmniClear’s vision is to continuously enhance CMU service coverage, expand connectivity with other markets and upgrade the CMU infrastructure to provide market participants with comprehensive and quality services.

Associate, IT & System Development (Infrastructure Engineer)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain server environments including Windows, Linux, AIX, and virtualization platforms (such as VMware and Hyper-V)
  • Manage enterprise storage systems, including SAN and NAS, to ensure optimal performance, high availability, and readiness for disaster recovery
  • Deploy, configure, and monitor cloud infrastructure including hybrid cloud integrations
  • Support email, systems, backup solutions, patch management, and antivirus protection
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell
  • Conduct routine system health checks, apply patches, and perform software upgrades
  • Troubleshoot platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective actions
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, backup strategies, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Possess a solid understanding of WAN and LAN networking principles and configurations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of database platforms including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform architecture, system configurations, and operational procedures
  • Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to deliver cohesive and integrated technical solutions

 

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least two years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure administration or engineering
  • Strong knowledge of server administration, virtualization, and storage technologies
  • Experience in database administration and cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, and GCP)
  • Familiarity with automation and monitoring tools including Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, and Splunk
  • Understanding of ITIL processes, DevOps practices, and cybersecurity principles
  • Relevant certifications (such as MCSE, VCP, or AWS/Azure Certified Engineer)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • High level of self-motivation, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, including spoken Putonghua
  • Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Analyst level)
