98年8月份貨幣統計數字

香港金融管理局今日(9月29日)發表的統計數字顯示，8月份存款總額繼續上升，但本地貸款則告下降。附表1列出8月份的摘要數字以及過去數月的比較數字。

存款

存款總額繼7月份上升3.8%後，在8月份上升1.4%，連續第三個錄得升幅，其中港元存款和外幣存款分別上升0.6%和2.5%。商業機構在8月份仍繼續將海外資金調回香港，但資金數量已見減少。

8月份，港元往來存款和儲蓄存款分別減少2.9%和3.9%，定期存款則上升2.0%。由於外幣存款增長比港元存款為快，港元存款佔存款總額比重由7月底57.7%，微跌至8月底的57.3%。

貸款及墊款

8月份貸款和墊款總額減少2.3%。海外貸款持續向下，錄得5.8%的跌幅。此外，8月份本地貸款也減少0.2%，其中貿易融資貸款進一步收縮2.1%，而在港使用的其他貸款則持平。由於港元存款上升而貸款下跌，港元貸存比率由7月底的106.2%，下跌至8月底的105.1%。

貨幣供應

港元貨幣供應M1在7月份微升0.2%後，在8月份卻下跌1.9%。另一方面，8月份港元貨幣供應M2和M3則分別上升0.6%和0.7%。以截至8月份的12個月計，港元貨幣供應M1下跌16.6%，但港元貨幣供應M2和M3則分別上升4.5%和4.3%。
