The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.  There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following post:

Senior Systems Analyst – Tokenisation and CBDC Projects

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Participate in tokenisation and CBDC system development projects, including vendor management, workshop planning, requirements analysis, system design, code review, local and cross‑border testing, quality assurance, and preparation of technical and user documentation
  • Support ongoing operations and drive process improvements for tokenisation and CBDC systems Responsibilities include transaction monitoring, coordination across participants and business and technical teams, onboarding new users, handling enquiries and incidents, delivering user training, and ensuring compliance with operational standards
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders from partner organisations, including central banks, financial institutions, research bodies, technology firms, and academic institutions
  • Conduct research on tokenisation and CBDC technologies to evaluate impacts on existing financial market infrastructure and identify interoperability opportunities
  • Provide occasional after‑hours support and participate in weekend system deployments as required

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, financial technology or related fields
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in IT projects or operations role within financial market infrastructure or payment systems
  • Knowledge in financial market infrastructure or payment systems
  • Hands-on experience with tokenisation and CBDC systems
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas an advantage:
    • Application Programming Interface (API) and system integration
    • Automated testing and deployment
    • Blockchain and smart contract development
    • Cybersecurity risk assessment and management
  • Innovative, forward-looking mindset, with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Systems Analyst level.)

  • Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
