The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.  There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position:

Associate Fintech Director (Fintech Facilitation Office) – Governance & Strategic Planning

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the planning, development and execution of an innovative tokenized payment project, ensuring timely delivery and effective project management
  • Serve as secretariat to the project committee and Chair, providing strategic and administrative support to ensure alignment with the governance framework, facilitate decision-making, and guide the project’s implementation
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategic direction and project timeline, advancing the project towards key future milestones
  • Conduct research and maintain a strong understanding of tokenization and international payment issues, synthesizing insights to shape the project’s long-term vision and strategic direction
  • Perform any other duties as needed to support the team’s broader objectives

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree, preferably in finance, business, financial technology or related fields
  • At least 3 years of solid experience in innovation-related projects with governance, relationship management, or policy experiences. Project implementation and management experience a definite advantage
  • Good knowledge of the latest development in the fields of payment, digital money, tokenisation and fintech a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a large number of external stakeholders
  • Flexible, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Senior Officer level.)

 

Conditions of service

 

  • Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
  • A competitive remuneration package will be offered.  There is flexibility to take account of additional experience and qualifications
