The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.  There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position:

Associate Fintech Director – Payment and Tokenisation (Fintech Facilitation Office)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • As the product owner in Project Ensemble, which renders support to the development of the tokenisation market in Hong Kong
  • Understand the domestic and cross-border payment needs from the industry, particularly the development of tokenised money and asset
  • Prioritise the product features and manage the delivery of the project
  • Work with architecture team on architecture strategy and implement product roadmaps to meet current and future needs of the project
  • Lead the discussions with stakeholders from partnering institutions, such as international organisations, central banks, financial institutions, research institutions, and technology firms

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in finance, banking, financial technology, computer science or related fields
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in multinational financial institution, preferably with a deep understanding of topics such as payment, settlement, trade finance, tokenisation of Real World Assets (including financial assets such as bonds and funds), blockchain and other innovative technologies supporting financial services
  • Proven work experience in cross-border projects and developing payment instruments a plus
  • Experience in large-scale event planning and management an advantage
  • Good knowledge of monetary, financial and other subjects relevant to the HKMA, and financial products and services, as well as the related process flow an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good command of English, Cantonese and Putonghua

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Senior Officer or Officer level.)

  • Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
