香港金融管理局今日(4月30日)发表的统计数字显示,整体存款在98年3月份继续上升,但整体贷款和垫款则下跌。附表1列出3月份的摘要数字以及过去数月的比较数字。
存款
整体存款在98年2月份上升1.5%后,于3月份微升0.1%,其中港元存款继2月份上升1.9%后,在3月份再上升1.5%,而外币存款则下跌1.7%,扭转2月份增加0.9%的情况。
3月份各类港元存款均告上升,其中港元往来存款上升5.2%,储蓄存款上升4.6%,定期存款上升0.2%。港元存款增加,是因为区内金融市场已较为稳定。
外币存款方面,美元存款在2月份微升0.3%后,于3月份下跌3.0%,而非美元外币存款则继2月份增加1.6%后,在3月份下跌0.1%。
贷款及垫款
整体贷款和垫款在3月份下跌6.7%。整体贷款和垫款下跌,主要是因为海外贷款收缩14.2%,特别是海外日圆贷款急剧下跌,这类贷款占香港银行体系贷款及垫款总额超过30%。海外日圆贷款由日资银行在其本土分行借给在日本的客户,但在这些银行的海外分行入账。客户一般可因这种入账方式得以减少税务支出及融资成本。由于日资银行采取比较审慎的贷款政策,以及需要缩小资产负债表规模,导致海外日圆贷款下跌速度加快,于本年度第一季收缩了23%。然而,海外日圆贷款的减少对香港的经济活动和信贷的状况影响不大,原因是香港只作为有关贷款的入账中心。
另一方面,由于本地经济活动放缓以及贷款需求减弱,在香港使用的贷款也微跌0.8%,其中贸易融资贷款下跌2.4%,其他贷款则下跌0.6。
港元贷款在3月份没有变动,而外币贷款则下跌11.9%。因此,港元贷存比率由2月底的113.0%下降至3月底的111.3%。
按主要经济行业分类的在港使用贷款季度分析
由于银行采取审慎的贷款政策,以及利率高企令贷款需求减弱,所以本地信贷在1998年第一季下跌1.2%。资产市场淡静情况一致,住宅按揭贷款的增长幅度放缓至1.8%,而建造及物业发展与投资的贷款则下跌0.6%。同样,对财务及金融有关公司和证券经纪的贷款也分别下跌0.9%和37.1%。在零售业表现呆滞的情况下,批发及零售业贷款下跌3.8%,扭转上一季增加4.1%的情况。此外,制造业的信贷下跌2.7%,而贸易融资贷款则下跌5.7%。
货币供应
由于往来存款增加5.2%,抵销了公众人士持有现金的2.8%跌幅,所以港元货币供应M1于3月份增加1.6%。此外,港元货币供应M2和M3于是月同告上升1.3%。按截至3月份止的12个月计,港元货币供应M1下跌6.5%,但港元货币供应M2和M3则分别上升7.8%和7.5%,与名义本地生产总值增长率一致。
