CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Exchange Fund.  It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA.  As part of the critical financial market infrastructure in Hong Kong, CMU is a central securities depository (CSD) for securities.  CMU OmniClear’s vision is to continuously enhance CMU service coverage, expand connectivity with other markets and upgrade the CMU infrastructure to provide market participants with comprehensive and quality services.

Associate, Information Technology (Back-end System Developer)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Participate in design, development and maintenance of server-side applications using VB.Net, ASP.NET and Java
  • Monitor and review system performance to ensure reliability, scalability, and security
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolve complex technical issues
  • Prepare functional and technical specifications, workshops, and documentation to ensure seamless integration and knowledge sharing
  • Conduct technical integration testing and assist in user acceptance testing to guarantee high-quality deliverables
  • Provide on call support for production incident

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
  • At least 5 years of experience in web-based application development and support in financial sector. Advantage for experience in translating business requirements into technical architecture
  • Proficient in VB.Net, ASP.NET and/or Java programming, with a strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies. Advantage for experience in PROWIDE library or an equivalent SWIFT message parser/generator library
  • Experience in shell script in IBM AIX and/or Unix environment
  • Experience in RESTful API with JSON and XML
  • Knowledge in SWIFT MX and MT messages format. Advantage for experience in IBM MQ series for enterprise messaging integration
  • Advantage for knowledge in SQL, stored procedure programing and/or Crystal Report
  • Fluent in Cantonese (both spoken and written), good command of English, with good communication and interpersonal skills. Advantage for Mandarin (both spoken and written)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Be a team player, autonomous, and pro-active to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and operations, to achieve business targets
  • Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above
