CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Exchange Fund.  It carries out the operation and business development activities of the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on behalf of the HKMA.  As part of the critical financial market infrastructure in Hong Kong, CMU is a central securities depository (CSD), providing secure and efficient clearing, settlement and custodian services for securities.  CMU OmniClear’s vision is to continuously enhance CMU service coverage, expand connectivity with other markets and upgrade the CMU infrastructure to provide market participants with comprehensive and quality services.

Associate Director (Product Development)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Reporting to the Head of Product Development, this role will be responsible for delivery of CMU’s products and services to investor and issuer clients
  • Assist to develop and expand CMU’s triparty, repo collateral service, focusing on the adoption of CGBs and other eligible asset classes in line with global best practices
  • Conduct research and development for new products and services in response to, and in anticipation of, market needs, with a view to enhancing CMU’s revenue and strategic positioning
  • Maintain relationships with key clients, regulators, partners and service providers to continuously review and improve CMU’s existing product and service offerings
  • Manage the roll-out of new products and services from ideation through to marketing testing, collaborating with CMU’s operating teams to develop relevant systems and processes, secure regulatory approval, and facilitate market education
  • Maintain a profit and loss statement and achieve annual budget targets agreed upon with CMU’s Board of Directors

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree, preferably in finance, business administration, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the securities services industry, preferably from market infrastructure providers or banks
  • Familiarity with financial markets, preferably in both fixed income and equities products
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with effective communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, highly motivated, and capable of managing competing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English; proficiency in Chinese is preferred
  • Candidates with supplementary experience and qualifications will also be considered, even if they do not meet all of the specified requirements above

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Senior Associate level.)
