The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.

The HKMA currently embarks on a multi-year Digitalisation Programme that cuts across multiple functions, including banking and anti-money laundering supervision, financial stability surveillance, research and investment, with the aim of using technologies and data science to help us identify emerging risks and trends in a more forward-looking manner.

There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position to work under the Digitalisation Programme:

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Work in the Data Analytics Centre of Excellence (“DAC”) on data analytic projects using large-volume data for risk monitoring and surveillance, serving all functions of the HKMA across different area (i.e. from banking policy to reserves management)
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts from various business divisions to drive advanced analytics use cases
  • Develop and implement automated monitoring tools (e.g. self-alerting dashboards) in support of risk management and decision making across various central banking functions Support big data research and various Generative AI product development
  • Support the implementation of various initiatives under the HKMA’s Digitalisation Programme

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in data science, computer science, statistics, fintech and / or related fields
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, tableau and R.  Experience in using GenAI development with prompt engineering a definitely advantage
  • Experience in conducting data projects with visualisation preferred
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, communication skills and capable of self-directed learning
  • A good team player with ability to work with others to achieve the objectives
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Prior work experience is an advantage.  Recent graduates with good academic standing are welcome to apply

  • Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
