Game Introduction

Under the current technology development, online shopping and digital payment become increasingly popular, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority has launched a financial education board game “$mart Money Management 321”, which is designed and published by the social enterprise People On Board. By completing specified missions with an immersive experience, primary school students can learn about various money management concepts, equipping them to become smart and responsible financial consumers when they grow up: Learn about different payment methods; Learn to use money smartly and distinguish between “needs” and “wants”; Understand the concept of saving, sources of income and basic banking services; Cultivate responsible spending attitudes and positive money management concepts; Understand the proper and improper use of online banking services and online shopping behaviour, and enhance their cybersecurity awareness. "$mart Money Management 321” has been officially launched at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2023. During the Book Fair, many parents, children and teachers came to our booth to try the board game and take photos, and then took home cool and practical souvenirs. All visitors had an enjoyable stopover there.

Souvenirs include “理財智FUN卡” card game, A4 plastic folder and stickers.

“$mart Money Management Experiential Centre”

The HKMA launches the “$mart Money Management Wonderland” Campaign to further promote the HKMA’s financial education Board Game “$mart Money Management 321”. Through the designated showroom at PMQ in Central and online parenting workshops, the public can play to learn money management concepts at the festive moment.

Trial Sessions of the “$mart Money Management 321” Board Game at designated time slots

“$mart Money Management 321 Parenting Workshops"

The HKMA is going to host two workshops in the morning of two Saturdays in Dec 2023 and Dec 2024. Members of the public can participate in the “$mart Money Management Wonderland - Wall Game” (理財童樂園有獎遊戲) at the HKMA Facebook Page and answer one simple question. Each selected participant can bring a kid aged 6 to 12 to join the workshop#. A new round of the wall game will be rolled out after mid Jan 2024. Game winners will be able to join the workshop to be held at the Auditorium of the HKMA on 3 Feb 2024 where they can try the board game and visit the HKMA Information Centre. Stay tuned!

#After attending the workshop, each family will get a set of the “$mart Money Management” board game and the “Money Management with Fun” card game.
