Systems Analyst – mBridge and Digital Currency

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.  There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position in the Hong Kong FMI Services Limited (HKFMI), a wholly owned subsidiary of the HKMA:

Systems Analyst – mBridge and Digital Currency

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in next-generation Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) innovative projects
  • Complete assigned technical tasks in the rollout of Project mBridge, including:
    - Liaise with system operator on project deliverables and timeline
    - Coordinate the collection of user and technical requirements
    - Conduct local and cross-border testing and quality assurance work
    - Assist in deployment of CBDC application systems
    - Prepare technical and user documentation
  • Assist the team in conducting research on CBDC-related technologies and study their implications to and interoperability with existing financial market infrastructures
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders from partnering institutions, such as international organisations, central banks, financial institutions, research institutions and technology firms

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, financial technology, or related disciplines
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in IT projects
  • Knowledge of blockchain technologies, smart contracts, cloud platforms and application deployment
  • Hands-on experience in any of the following preferred:
    - Application deployment automation
    - Infrastructure deployment and management
    - Database management
    - API integration
  • Innovative mindset with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua

  • Appointment will be offered by the HKFMI on fixed contract terms
