The Hong Kong Financial Literacy Championship 2025 is organised by Hong Kong Economic Journal Education, co-organised by the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, supported by Hong Kong Education City, partnered with St. James’ Settlement and sponsored by Visa. The Championship targets to help secondary school students keep abreast of the development of innovation, fintech and artificial intelligence(AI), equip them with crucial financial skills and values, and develop entrepreneur and innovation spirit, so as to unlock their potential of being future talents for the financial industry.
This year the Championship comes in two formats, online quiz and Young Financial Talent Runway. Subject to their circumstances, schools can join either the online quiz or Young Financial Talent Runway, or both. To align with the financial education module of the subject of Citizenship, Economics and Society, the online quiz is divided into junior secondary group and senior secondary group the first time. Infographics on financial management knowledge will be deployed in some questions to enable students learn more effectively and with fun. While the online quiz welcomes students to enrol on individual basis, Young Financial Talent Runway requires schools to nominate students who are interested in developing their career in the financial industry to join this contest in teams. The contest provides the participants with various opportunities such as visiting international accounting firms or financial institutions, joining mentorship with industry representatives as mentors to share with them the latest development of the financial sector, and benefitting from the one-to-one guidance to the teams on business case analysis. 10 shortlisted school teams will be invited to give analysis for the cases provided by the organiser and present their idea to the panel of judges to compete for various awards at the Grand Pitch. All secondary school students are encouraged to participate. Please visit the website of Hong Kong Financial Literacy Championship 2025 to learn more.
