The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) will soon hold e-Cheque roving exhibitions in collaboration with the Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) to enhance the public awareness of e-Cheques.
The e-Cheque service has been launched for almost a year since 7 December 2015. Further enhancements have been made to the e-Cheque service with broadened coverage and additional facility. In particular, joint e-Cheque clearing between Hong Kong and Guangdong province was introduced on 20 July 2016 covering cross-boundary payments. In addition, the functionalities of the e-Cheque Drop Box provided by the Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited will be enriched to support online deposit of e-Cheques in bulk starting from 21 November 2016, thus streamlining the operations of corporates in depositing a large number of e-Cheques.
The HKMA and HKAB will jointly organise a series of exhibitions in various shopping malls according to the following schedule. Student ambassadors will assist the public in understanding the major features and benefits of e-Cheque with the aid of interactive demos and games.
