Fraudulent emails purporting to be issued by the HKMA

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public to fraudulent emails purporting to be issued by the HKMA from email accounts remit.xxxxxxx@hkma.gov.hk (“xxxxxxx” represents various different numbers).  The HKMA has no connection with the fraudulent emails.
 
The HKMA has reported the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation.  Anyone who has received the email should contact any local police station or the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.
