The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) today (Thursday) published the March 2005 issue of its Quarterly Bulletin.

This issue of the Bulletin contains feature articles on

  • A graphical framework for monitoring the property market in Hong Kong - concluding that the risk of a property bubble developing in Hong Kong is currently low
  • The growth of consumer credit in Asia - pointing out that strong growth in consumer credit in Asian economies in recent years creates a new source of risk, to which policymakers should pay attention

  • The Hong Kong dollar debt market in 2004 - examining the debt market performance in 2004.

The Bulletin also carries a Supervisor's Memo on acceptable "security" under section 79(3) of the Banking Ordinance, and regular articles on the banking and monetary environment during the fourth quarter of 2004.

The Bulletin may be ordered from the HKMA at $100 per copy, or it may be bought at the HKMA Information Centre on 55th Floor, Two International Finance Centre. The full text of the Bulletin is available on the HKMA website (http://www.info.gov.hk/hkma/eng/public/qb_index.htm).
