HKMA Quarterly Bulletin (September 2004 Issue)

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) today (Wednesday) published the September 2004 issue of its Quarterly Bulletin.

This issue of the Quarterly Bulletin contains articles on

  • International reserve holdings - Are financial centres different? - examining the relationship between reserve holding patterns and the size and nature of financial centres
  • Revised supplement to the guideline on prevention of money laundering - explaining the background to new guidance issued to banks in Hong Kong on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.

In addition, the Bulletin carries a speech entitled The case for an Asian bond market and a Supervisor's Memo on liquidity risk management. The Bulletin also contains regular articles on the banking and monetary environment during the second quarter of 2004.
