The target go-live dates of Phase I Open APIs

The target go-live dates of Phase I Open APIs provide an overview and indicative timeline for third party service providers (TSPs) and related parties to better plan for service offerings. When the Open APIs become available in early 2019, the Data Studio of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks will provide a single point of reference of all Open APIs offered by banks to facilitate access by TSPs. The banks also plan to offer websites providing the specifications of the Open APIs starting from the target go-live dates.

The details of the Open API implementation of individual banks are subject to their designs and latest plans. Different banks may also have variations in the coverage of Open APIs to the products or services under each category of Open API function. If you have questions regarding the details of Open API functions or their target go-live dates below, please contact the respective banks. 

 

Core-banking functions

Core-banking Open API functions comprise the following:

  • Retrieve current account product details
  • Retrieve time deposit product details
  • Retrieve foreign currency account product details

Loans

  • Retrieve credit card product details
  • Retrieve mortgage loan product details
  • Retrieve unsecured loan product details
  • Retrieve secured loan product details

Other banking services

  • Retrieve safe deposit box product details
  • Retrieve branch and ATM information
  • Retrieve foreign currency exchange rate
