One of the three types of authorized institution in Hong Kong under the
Banking Ordinance. A restricted licence bank may
take time, call or notice deposits from members of the public in amounts of HK$500,000 and
above without restriction on maturity. Restricted licence banks generally engage in activities
such as merchant banking and capital market operations.
