Closing date of the subscription period of Silver Bond

The first Government Silver Bond series of retail bonds (the “Silver Bond”) under the programme circular dated 19 May 2016 and the issue circular dated 15 July 2016 is currently open for subscription.  As stipulated in the issue circular, the subscription period shall end at 2pm on the closing date (the “Closing Date”), which is currently scheduled to be 3 August 2016.

According to the terms of the issue circular, the Closing Date will not be changed if a tropical cyclone warning signal number 8 or above or a “black” rainstorm warning is hoisted or remains hoisted in Hong Kong on 1 August and/or 2 August 2016. 

However, in the event that a tropical cyclone warning signal number 8 or above or a “black” rainstorm warning is hoisted or remains hoisted in Hong Kong at any time from 7am to 2pm on 3 August 2016, the Closing Date will be postponed till 2pm on the next business day in Hong Kong (which is currently expected to be 4 August 2016).
