HKMA’s update on the operation of the banking system and financial market (19)

According to the reports to the HKMA from banks as at 9:30am today (18 October), 8 branches of 8 banks were affected and temporarily closed. Temporary suspension of ATMs in the affected areas is expected. The HKMA has requested banks to resume other services as soon as circumstances permit.  Customers should pay attention to the relevant banks’ announcements regarding affected branches and ATMs.   The HKMA will also publish on its website relevant updates from time to time.
