Fraudulent hotline purporting to be related to the HKMA (+852 3177 1572)

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public about a suspected fraudulent telephone hotline (+852 3177 1572), which purports to be an interactive voice response system run by the HKMA.

The telephone hotline is not provided or approved by the HKMA. The HKMA wishes to clarify that it is the banking regulator in Hong Kong and does not provide any form of personal banking services. The HKMA has already reported the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for investigation. Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the suspected fraudulent telephone hotline is advised to contact the Hong Kong Police Force.
