Suspicious Fraudulent Website: www.dbshk.net

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public in Hong Kong to a suspected fraudulent website with the domain name www.dbshk.net. The website uses the name of DBS Bank and offers a number of banking and investment services. The HKMA has verified with DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited that the said website (www.dbshk.net) is neither operated by it nor its holding company DBS Group Holdings Limited.

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited has already reported the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation. Since the website is hosted overseas, the HKMA is liaising with the relevant authorities to take appropriate action in relation to this website.

Members of the public who are concerned that they have revealed their security details to the website should contact the DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited customer service centre at 22908123. Anyone who have dealings with the website should contact any local police station or the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police at 28605012.

The HKMA wishes to remind the public that given the global nature of the Internet, fraudsters will continue to make use of similar techniques to defraud consumers in different countries or cities including Hong Kong. Members of the public in Hong Kong are reminded to verify the status of any organisation making use of the Internet to solicit deposits from the public. Members of the public should check the status of any entity in Hong Kong which solicits deposits from the public with the HKMA by calling its public enquiry hotline 2878 8222.
