Pan-Asian CSD Alliance
To facilitate bond market development in Asia and enhance the attractiveness of debt securities in the region to foreign investors, the HKMA, a group of central banks and central securities depositories (CSDs) in the region and Euroclear have formed a Task Force to improve cross-border post-trade infrastructure in Asia.
The Task Force issued a White Paper (PDF File, 169KB) on 4 June 2010, which sets out the development blueprint of a Common Platform Model in Asia. In essence, the Common Platform Model enables Asian CSDs to adopt harmonised procedures and shared technology in processing debt securities in a pragmatic and gradual approach.
The Task Force welcomes central banks and CSDs in Asia and other interested stakeholders to study the recommendations in the White Paper, including the longer term development and implications of the Common Platform Model.
